Wat was ons project?
We fotografeerden grote groepen mensen naakt op mooie plekken in Utrecht zoals de tuin van het Centraal Museum, in Bibliotheek Neude, op het middenstuk van de ijsBaan Vechtse Banen vanuit de lucht, met een drone.
Wie zijn wij?
Wij zijn een groep enthousiastelingen: Lieke (communicatie), Floris (filosoof), Daan (productie), Ben en Ton (fotografie), Anna, Joni, Maartje en Azavi (modellen), Wing (Instagram), Richard (vertalingen), Wojciech (choreografie), Erik (assistentie) en Tom (projectleider en drone-fotograaf) en nog veel meer mensen. We zijn een los georganiseerd groepje vrienden.
Waarom?
Waarom niet? Samen met dertig of zelfs honderd mensen een prachtige foto creëren op een spannende manier, dat vinden we gaaf. En wie wil er nou niet een keer naakt in de tuin naast de Dom liggen en samen met anderen een episch foto maken? En er was natuurlijk wereldwijde exposure van de resulterende foto's die laten zien hoe awesome Utrecht is vanuit de lucht. En we hebben ervaren dat meedoen met zo'n shoot leiden tot zelfacceptatie van het eigen lichaam en body positivity. De foto's, en een "making-of" film hebben we tentoon gesteld in de Stadsschouwburg, van 12 tot 21 mei.

Mag dat wel?
Een grote shoot met naaktmodellen organiseren midden in een historische stad is complex, maar wij hebben al grotere projecten succesvol georganiseerd. Wettelijk gezien mag er veel onder de noemer "kunst". En sinds januari 2021 mag je met een speciaal soort drone boven betrokken personen vliegen. We respecteren uiteraard alle lokale en landelijke regels en wetgeving.
Data
We hebben op 5 maart onze eerste fotoshoot gemaakt, dat ging geweldig maar was wel koud. In april hebben we vier fotoshoots gehad, de allergrootste was op 29 april in de Pandhof bij de Dom, met meer dan 100 modellen.

Budget
Om onze plannen te realiseren kregen we budget, dat hebben we gebruikt voor catering van de modellen, een mooie fotoafdruk die ze tijdens de expositie kunnen ophalen, huur van de locaties, fotoafdrukken, heatpacks, etc etc. We zijn blij met de steun die we van individuen en instanties kregen zoals het SPRING festival, het Centraal Museum Utrecht, ijsbaan Vechtse Banen, bibliotheek Neude en Universiteit Utrecht.
Expositie
De resulterende foto's exposeerden we in een geweldige locatie, de Hekman foyer in de Stadsschouwburg van 12 tot 21 mei 2022.

What's our project?
We photographed groups of models, up to a hundred nude people per shoot, in beautiful places in Utrecht city center such as the Domplein or the wharves, from the air, with a drone.
The resulting photos were displayed on an exhibition in the Hekman Foyer at the Stadsschouwburg from May 12th to May 21st 2022. There was a vernissage and a talk of philosopher Floris van den Berg and all models were invited.
Who are we?
We are a group of enthusiasts: Lieke (communication), Floris (philosopher), Ben and Ton (photography), Richard (translations), Joni, Maartje, Louise and Azavi (models), Wing (Instagram) and Tom (project leader and drone photographer) and others. We are a loosely organized group of friends.
Why?
Why not? Creating a beautiful photo together with up to a hundred people in an exciting way, that seems cool to us. And who wouldn't want to lie naked on the ancient stones and take an epic picture with 100 others? And of course we also saw worldwide exposure of the resulting photos that show how awesome Utrecht is from the air. And we have experienced that participating in such a shoot leads to self-acceptance of one's own body and body positivity.

Is such a shoot allowed?
Organizing a large shoot with up to a hundred nude models in the middle of a historic city is complex, but to be honoust, we already have successfully organized larger projects. Legally speaking, in the Netherlands much is allowed when it is considered art. And since January 2021, you can legally fly a special kind of drone over people that are involved with a droneshoot. So organising this shoot is complex, but not impossible.
Dates
We had first group shoot in March 5th, although it was cold. Conditions were more favorable in April, and we were cooperating with SPRING Utrecht, a cultural festival held in May. Next to these large shoots, we organised smaller shoots with single models or small groups. Some locations where we want to shoot don't have room for a hundred models.
Budget
We used our budget to provide catering for all models: a hot chocolate is nice if you have just been lying on cold stones for 15 minutes. We would also like to thank all models with a beautiful photo print that they can collect at the exposition.
In addition, we printed the resulting photos in large format and exhibited them in the Hekman foyer at the Stadsschouwburg in Utrecht. And there were also costs for the organization, website, equipment, insurance, license and lots of cups of coffee. :)
